We are all aging but are we aging fruitfully, skillfully, meeting the challenges in a way that makes this the most exciting and fulfilling time of our lives? Are we growing into wisdom elders serving greatest good and fulfilling our highest potentials? This workshop draws from Toms new book presenting Five Developmental Tasks to Fruitful Aging. You will learn about the exciting concept of "gerotranscendence" and how to consciously incorporate it into your personal process of aging. We will work together through discussion, exercises, ritual and ceremony creating an intention statement to guide and empower your path forward into a positive relationship with the natural process of aging. Finally, you will learn about the importance of creating a Recognition Rite of Passage honoring yourself or a selected elder into a new identity as a vital contributing member of society.
By renewing our relationship to beauty through music, language, and the arts, we can replenish our natural resources and restore our authentic selves. Drawing from creativity and wisdom practices, we deepen connection to our innate access to compassion and courage, joy and hope, When we accept life on its own terms, we may reclaim precious opportunities to provide comfort and peace in the most trying situations and be truly present for patients, families and co-workers — and life.
