Bill Kreutzmann sat in with Steve Kimock, Jeff Chimenti, Dan Lebowitz, Bill Vitt, Bobby Vega and John Morgan Kimock last night. The Grateful Dead drummer made his appearance at the Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley, CA, where the Steve Kimock-led group was paying tribute to the roots and R&B wing of Jerry Garcia’s repertoire. Kreutzmann took over drums from John Morgan Kimock toward the end of the first set for an instrumental take on “Help On The Way” > “Slipknot!” > “Franklin’s Tower.” Jason Crosby sat in for “Bertha” during the second set as well.

Kreutzmann was also spotted at Bob Weir’s TRI Studios with Weir and Mickey Hart yesterday, speaking with Rhino CEO Mark Pinkus. Rhino Records is the Grateful Dead’s label. However, there is no word on what the group was up to.

As previously reported, Kreutzmann has made a few appearances on the West Coast lately. The drummer sat in with Les Claypool in Sebastapol last week before debuting his new TryptoBand a few days later. He is also slated to perform later this month at Warren Haynes 26th annual Christmas Jam, where his new project Billy & The Kids will play its first gig.
