"Robert Trujillo Presents Jaco: The Documentary" to Participate in Grammy Museum Program
Los Angeles, CA, November 19, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Robert Trujillo (Metallica) will screen a nearly complete version of Jaco: The Documentary as part of the Reel to Reel program to take place at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles on Monday December 8, 2014 7:30PM. Mr. Trujillo has spent the last four years working on a documentary about the legendary bass player, Jaco Pastorius.

Jaco: The Documentary made its debut as a “work in progress” October 6 at the Mill Valley Film Festival. The film features interviews with several high profile musicians including Joni Mitchell, and tells the story of Pastorius, a self-taught, larger than life musician who made almost mythical impact on music and reinvented the electric bass. Jaco brought a level of playing that gave the instrument a powerful and dynamic voice with both edge and beauty.

Currently, the documentary is in its final stages of post-production and is in the midst of a fan-funded partnership with Pledge Music who have sponsored a limited amount of tickets for this event http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/jacothefilm.

Produced by Trujillo, in association with Passion Pictures Jaco: The Documentary stars a diverse group of musicians (in addition to Mitchell, the film features Flea, Sting, Wayne Shorter, Carlos Santana, Geddy Lee and many more), as well as Jaco’s family and friends. This film uses archival footage and personal stories to tell the story of Pastorius’ music, his life, his demise, and ultimately the fragility of artistic genius.

After the film, Robert Trujillo and director Paul Marchand will participate in a panel discussion.
